Annual HTC Employee Food and Coat Drive Helps Many
The 8th Annual Employee Food and Coat Drive hosted by HTC employees, October 29-December 10, will help many individuals and families in need this holiday season. HTC employees raised over $3,570 and collected thousands of canned and nonperishable food items which were donated to CAP, Churches Assisting People, on Friday, December 11. In addition, an impressive 393 coats were collected and donated by HTC employees to CAP.
“I am overwhelmed by the amount of coats and food HTC collected and donated to CAP this year. The amount of money raised and coats given is pretty incredible. HTC employees went above and beyond, and I am extremely thrilled by the response. This donation will make a huge difference especially during these hard and very difficult times. We are grateful that HTC employees went to such great lengths to do so much. Every single food item and coat will be distributed to someone who needs it,” said Gail Steinfield, Executive Director for CAP that serves an average of 75-100 families per day (giving 3 meals minimum) and over 260,000 meals in 2009 to date.
“The annual food and coat drive is our way of sharing a portion of the good fortune we've been given with those less fortunate in our community. HTC employees put so much heart and effort into fundraising for local charities and through this food and coat drive, it is our hope that the less fortunate in our community will have one less worry over the holiday season,” said Glenda Page, HTC Chief Executive-Human Resources.
